Paul Schütze is an Australian musician in the ambient music genre. He was born in 1958 in Melbourne, where he lived intermittently until relocating to the UK in 1992. His style is sprawling, icy, often difficult ambient and electro-acoustic music, paying much attention to rhythm but without relying on the techno mode. (Wikipedia.org)

This disc was intended to accompany the 1992 release NEW MAPS OF HELL as the necessary stylistic conclusion to that work. Unfortunately my label at the time would not agree to this. In the six months which seperate the two releases, I have been unable to resist altering, re-editing and replacing some of the pieces, but I still regard this disc as the second part of MAPS.
