These compositions are groundbreaking for their unusual ideas at the time they were first composed. For instance, Imaginary Landscape No. 1 involved the use of two turntables, frequency sounds, a muted piano and cymbals and Imaginary Landscape No. 4 (March No. 2) called for only 12 radios to be used as instruments.
