Robert J. Lurtsema was a DJ who hosted the Boston FM station WGBH's classical music morning show, "Morning Pro Musica", that was broadcasted in the New England (northeast) region of the United States. In 1972, Lurtsema started the show everyday with bird songs. The bird songs were popular with the show's audience that there was a demand for an album of bird songs that were heard on the program. The result is this LP. Lurtsema does not speak on the LP. There are only bird songs.

    Vaubu wrote: Yeah, I can remember growing up with this in Maine in the 1970's and 80's. The feeling in a room with family changed when these bird recordings were airing on the radio in the morning.
